Xavier Monsalvatje (1965), ceramist and painter.
Graduated in Ceramic Art at the School of Applied Arts in Valencia (Spain) in 1988. Since 1990 his work has been divided between ceramic, sculpture, painting and installation, but mainly focused in the study of industrial architecture, in architectural recovery, in the aesthetics of these elements and their unique impact on the landscape.
In 2008 he was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture (Madrid, Spain), at FuLe International Ceramic Art Museums (FLICAM) in Fuping, in Shaanxi province (China). In 2009 he won the first prize at the International Biennial of Ceramics in Manises (Valencia, Spain).
He is member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC). He also was awarded a scholarship as a resident artist in the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taipei (Taiwan) for 2015; and the Antonio Lopez Foundation, Cuenca (Spain) is organizing a solo exhibition of his work to be held in 2016, also the Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin (USA) has been granted a scholarship as artist in residence in 2016.
His work has been exhibited and included in group exhibitions in the United States, Europe, Panama, Dominican Republic, Chile, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China, Mali, Argentina, Ukraine, Croatia, Namibia, Turkey, Tunisia, etc. countries where he is also present in several collections.
